I like the idea of the chat room - but when can I find anyone on it?

I have just begun a short story based on a portion of my life that was interesting enough to write about. I have a few colorful characters, and a good story line. I am not a writer, although I am an artist. My drawings are part of the writing. My comment concerns a source of advise for people like myself that would want to try and write something, even if to say "I done it". Do you have an area on your site that I haven't seen for someone like myself to get advise? Possibly you could suggest some sites, books or elsewhere for such advise?

I do find your site to be the best for good information and inspiration combined in one place. As an realist in art form I am prone to research a lot of material concerning each subject, and plan to follow through with this project. Kind of a spiritual journey.

Hello I am starting a PhD - have read an out of print book Beyond Control schools and suspensions by a man called Rob Grunsell whom I believe was published in 1981 by a group called "Writers and Readers" Rupert St London.
